Starting the new academic year with an effective and competitive master programme on “Professional Orientation”

The Faculty of Social Sciences (FSS), Tirana University will start the academic year 2019-2020 with the "Professional Orientation" Master programme, which comes with an effective and competitive curricula, thanks to a partnership with the University of Lausanne, Switzerland and the University of Tirana supported by RISIAlbania a project of the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation, SDC.

This master's degree prepares future, competent, well-trained career advisors that can offer career guidance and counselling services for different categories and especially for young people. They can offer their services in schools, in career guidance centers, in public employment services and in private recruitment agencies, or as human resources experts. The master programme does not only offer a competitive study programme, but it also has a wide focus on increasing linkages with institutions that deliver career guidance services, which facilitates the transition of this master’ students to employment opportunities.

Students obtaining a Master Degree in “Professional Orientation” are capable of assisting interested individuals of any age with the recognition and analysis of personal and professional skills; manage career expectations, provide information on labour market, employment and training opportunities, provide information on career centers, recruitment agencies and job vacancies through a range of activities.

Thanks to the collaboration with the University of Lausanne, the Faculty of Social Sciences in Tirana is working to become a center of expertise for career services by improving not only the Master program but also having a focus on scientific research and development of tools and instruments that support work of career counselors.
