ISO Standard Training on GDPR compliance: Filling the market gap of certified consultants

General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) compliance is important for developing countries to tap into EU markets. Albania is taking steps to achieve this by training local consultants to deliver relevant services to the private sector. Currently, implementation of GDPR in the Albanian private sector is a recent requirement and the aim of this initiative is to create professionals that fill in the market gap.

Legal Cert together with RisiAlbania has conducted ISO STANDARD TRAINING with a focus on GDPR compliance. The scope of this training was to certify 10 professionals that want to deliver GDPR compliance and information security services to the private  sector.

Eris Sejnomeri, one of the participants states that ‘Data privacy is very important when data become digitalized and are shared online. The more you know about data privacy and periodically getting trained about it, the better you'll be able to help protect yourself from a large number of risks of data that should be kept private but accidentally may goes in the wrong hands. Security awareness trainings are the best way for educating employees about computer and information security.

The training program has been designed to prepare the professionals' experts to master the implementation of the Security and Privacy Information Management System. Each of the Lead Auditor will have the opportunity to work but not limit to the following activities:

  • Training services
  • Consultancy services risk assessment
  • Documentation Packages preparation.

As Besa Stringa, participant  puts itBeing a candidate country to the European Union, Albania has to follow a clear path towards complying EU Standards for Data Protection and Privacy. In addition, due to the intense commercial and social interactions between Albania and EU member states, a lot of EU Citizens Data are processed by private and public organizations in Albania. Thus, many private and public organizations need to take immediate actions on regards to data protection and privacy.’
