The agro-processing (AP) sector, comprised mostly of small and medium enterprises, currently accounts for 5% of the Albanian GDP. It offers employment to more than 11,000 people in full time jobs and many more in seasonal work; moreover, it has significant potential for growth. Two-thirds of the work force in the AP sector is under 30 years old, out of which 70% are women. RisiAlbania’s intervention in this sector aims at supporting the agro-processors to grow, ultimately creating more jobs for young women and men.
