Public Private Partnership for tourism development, is an innovative approach to promote destinations in Albania, while engaging local and rural businesses as well as the local authorities, to ensure that tourists will continue to come back and as such address the seasonality of the sector.
After the establishement of Visit-Gjirokastra, another local partnership is being developed in Saranda.
Visit Saranda hosted last weekend the elections for its first members for the Board of Directors.
Through an open call, 50 business representatives from local businesses, municipalities of the region, as well as academics participated in the meeting.
The high interest shown during the meeting showed once more the high awareness on the role of such partnerships to the development of destinations and boosting growth for youth employment.
The 9 members of the Board of Directors were selected through a transparent election process, out of 18 candidates.
With regard to geographical distribution, 6 board members are from Saranda and 3 others from Delvina, Finiq and Konispol. 8 board members come from the business sector and 1 from academia, whereas 4 out of 9 board members are women. Young representation could not miss in this inclusive board with 3 out of 9 board members being young people below 30-years old.
