RisiAlbania supported the Olive Oil Sector considering the situation of high production quantities of Olive Oil and need to access high value market.

The support during this period was provided through the cooperation with Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, Extension services by AREB-s, and Scientific advise by QTTB-s, KASH, FED Invest, Tenius LAB, Olive Oil Association and exporters of olive oil.

The activities included support with training raising capacities and awareness about good practices in the production and preservation of olive oil quality: 22 training sessions in the six main regions of Albania for a total number of 300 farmers were organised. As part of the training 298 samples are measures with acidity meter and 298 samples were tested from expert’s representative of 455 tone of olive oil.

Furthermore, the exporters and processing factories were supported with deep Olive Oil Analysis (European Regulation 2568/91) and advice based on the results. The initiatives have significantly influenced the sensitization and awareness of all actors in the chain, as well as establishing a fair and deserved quantity/price ratio.

Moreover, Fed Invest built a dedicated window of information for Olive Oil Sector. Thousands of farmers and hundreds of processing factories are informed through a dedicated forum, Education leaflets, videos and brochures. For the first time in Albania a digital platform was used to advertise and sell olive oil. This ensured information exchange, cooperation and communication between stakeholders and transparency.
