Piloting career education at pre-university level
Municipality of Tirana and Ministry of Education and Sports signed on 05.05.2022 a memorandum of understanding which enabled an active role of the Career Offices, Tirana in career education in pre-university education. Considering the main role that the career center of the Municipality of Tirana has in the development of career services in Albania, it will serve as a resource center for the provision of career education in schools, starting from the primary level. Youth supports youth!
On December 7, 2022, took place the Activity: “Youth Talks”. This activity brought together young people from different age groups and from different spheres of life. They were involved not only as spectators, but also as speakers and active participants. 5 of the young people told their very inspiring stories, conveying strong messages and emphasizing that many things can happen if we support each other, and if we continue with determination towards the path we have chosen to undertake. Based on the fact that the dynamics and pace of development of Information Technology brings great challenges, the General Directorate of Accreditation has taken and continues to take all the appropriate measures to cope with it and to fulfill its mission as a protector of the citizen’s interest. Quality, certification of agricultural products according to international standards is the ticket of Albanian exporters to enter the high value markets. The G.A.P Global National Working Group has held a series of meetings during November in the main regions of the country with fruit and vegetable collectors and exporters. In the framework of strengthening the capacities of the universities Career Offices staff, on November 13-17, 2022, the staff of the career offices from 4 Albanian universities, University of Tirana, Polytechnic University of Tirana, “Aleksandër Moisiu” University of Durrës, and the Agricultural University of Tirana, conducted a study visit to Poland where they visited the career offices of Polish universities, Warsaw University of Technology, University of Warsaw, SGH Warsaw School of Economics and College of Europe in Natolin. Albania, the road towards sustainable tourism
The Week for Sustainable Tourism took place in Albania on the dates 8 – 12 November 2022. On November 8 and 9, 2022, for the first time in Albania were offered trainings with international standards in sustainable tourism. The actors of tourism in Albania showed a very high interest and the participation was from the ranks of the private sector (hotels, tour operators, destination organization) as well as the public sector (Ministry of Tourism and Environment, universities, and tourism experts). Job quality diagnostic: How can we understand the quality of job for young women and men in Albania?
The gray area that we need to dig more and the gap that still exists beyond findings. The focus of the Workshop held on October 19, 2022, was on findings regarding aspects of decent work that include: profit, equality, employability, work environment and employee expectations, in the selected sectors: sustainable tourism, technology of information and communication as well as agribusiness (fruits, vegetables and medicinal and aromatic plants).
