Municipality of Tirana, National Agency for Employment and Skills, as well as the National  Agency for Vocational Education,Training and Qualifications, with the support of RisiAlbania, a project of the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation SDC, organized on May 10-11, 2022, the professions fair at Italia Square in Tirana.

This professions fair, the first of its kind in Albania, started on Tuesday, May 10, at 10:00 a.m. with the participation of Mrs. Delina Ibrahimaj, Minister of Finance and Economy, Mr. Patrik Meier, Deputy Head of the Mission of the Swiss Embassy in Albania, and Mr. Erion Veliaj, Mayor of the Municipality of Tirana.

The purpose of the fair was to familiarize young men and women with professions and the world of work. In an attractive and interactive format, this is the first fair that is organized with the aim of encouraging  young people to get to know more about the variety of professions from an early age. This event also highlights the value of linking career education and labor market information in an effective way.

With the slogan ‘Make your choice…’ on May 10-11, during 10:00-19:00 , providers of education and training programs of various levels offered visitors interactive presentations and demonstrations of a variety of professions grouped into topics such as Tourism, Information and Communication Technology, Food, Construction and Industry.

The fair also served as a space to connect young people with institutions where they can receive dedicated career guidance services such as the Career Office, Tirana Municipality; education, vocational training and employment through the National Agency for Employment and Skills, as well as information on the variety of professions and qualifications from the National Agency for  Vocational Education, Training and Qualifications.

RisiAlbania, the innovative youth employment project supported by the Swiss Agency for Development and Collaboration, since 2013 has been working to improve labour market services, and since 2017 has been focusing on the development of career services, contributing to young people making the most informed decisions regarding their journey in education and employment.

Besides presentation of professions at the stands, two parallel forums were organized during the fair with a focus on promoting further developments in the ecosystem of career services in Albania, with the participation of important actors in this field.
