Albania promoted internationally for the first time through regional destinations
Visit Gjirokastra became the first organization in Albania that promoted a regional destination as a brand in the international market. National Tourism Agency, through this cooperation with Visit Gjirokastra started to promote not only the country, but also Albanian regions as destinations.
New Deal Europe is the biggest international event for the Balkans and Southeast Europe, and the participation of Albania through VisitGjirokastra has been supported by National Agency of Tourism, Swiss Import Promotion Programme (SIPPO) and RisiAlbania.
The event is dedicated to promoting Balkan destinations to high value international markets. On April 4th, Albanian representatives from Visit Gjirokastra and companies were able to meet over 100 international tour operators and wholesalers from around the world with pre-selected meetings registered for the New Deal Europe Marketplace and Forum 2022 live in London.
The same opportunity is given to those unable to join in the live version, through participation in the virtual meeting organized on April 11th in New Deal Europe online B2B platform.
The main participation goal was to promote Albania as an emerging unique destination, and a newly transformed destination as Gjirokastra, through tailormade interventions of Swiss and other donor projects. As a result, Visit Gjirokastra managed to participate in 17 B2B meetings with different tour operators and agencies from UK, USA, Germany, etc.
