An intensive two-day workshop brought together the staff of National Agency for Vocational Education, Training and Qualification (NAVETQ) and representatives from the Sectorial Skills Committee (SSC) Task Force, staff of RisiAlbania project and other stakeholder to discuss the next steps required for piloting the first Sectorial Skills Committee in Albania.

Following the study visit organized last September at the Portuguese National Agency for Qualification and VET and other SSC stakeholders, two international experts provided guidelines during the workshop based on the Portuguese model of Sectorial Skills Committee and shared other countries relevant practices on operationalization, development of tools and modalities of the SSCs. They provided a clear overview of the process which helped participants in the workshop to discuss and agree on the further steps necessary for piloting the first SSCs.

“The establishment of Sectorial Skills Committees will enable the private sector to articulate their needs to the Albanian Government under an institutionalized umbrella” – stressed Ms. Ejvis Gishti, General Director of NAVETQ.

This technical meeting is part of the support the SDC project RisiAlbania is providing for the NAVETQ in order to support the piloting of the first SSC.
