For the first time, a group of tourism stakeholders from Qarku of Gjirokastra (Gjirokastra, Permet & Tepelena) decided and agreed among each other to participate and promote their destination, Gjirokastra region, using the same brand “Visit Gjirokastra” under one stand at the Tirana International Tourism Fair, 5 & 6 April 2019.

16 tourism actors, as tour operators, HoReCa representatives, rural tourism businesses and local authorities from the region promoted their offer, new packages and tours developed recently for the new tourism season 2019.

Participants confirmed that tour operators and agencies, both national and international, were interested in their new packages to explore more Gjirokastra, Telepena and Permet, while visitors at the fair were interested to explore further the region.

RisiAlbania is supporting the tourism stakeholders in Qarku of Gjirokastra to cooperate together through the management Forum & Board “Visit Gjirokastra”, and promote the region through the same online platform.

Risi is working with partners to incentivize tourists to travel deeper into rural areas, stay longer, spend more widely and visit all year-round. Through the creation of sustainable information platforms, like Visit Gjirokastra we are improving the touristic offer through product development, increasing the capacities of tourism businesses at local level. These will lead to quality employment opportunities for youth.
