The conference, “Labor Market, a new business for Media” organized by RisiAlbania on July 2nd 2014, brought together representatives of media and businesses to discuss and share ideas about the role and business potential of the media in disseminating Labour Market Information to young women and men and their parents.. Such a role would have a tremendous impact on the decisions of the Albanian youth about their education and career choices.

RisiAlbania aims to support media to develop attractive media products focusing on Youth Education, Career Orientation and Employment Opportunities by establishing a profitable business model. Ms. Edlira Muedini, RisiAlbania’s Project Manager strongly emphasized the importance of the profitability for the media, as a crucial element to ensure the continuity of offering Labour Market Information to young people and their parents.  This can be achieved through strong partnerships with interested sponsors and advertisers targeting young audiences.

The presentation held by Mr. Nazim Rashidi, journalist and media consultant,  about the role of the media in disseminating Labour Market Information showed participants the opportunities and the potential related to this role, Based on a study RisiAlbania conducted during March-April 2014, . the needs and interests young people for information about labour market  the situation of national media in this regard and the interest of potential sponsors were explained to the audience.

The special guest, Prof. Werner D’Inka, editor of the Frankfurter Allgemeiner Zeitung (one of Germany’s leading newspapers) presented the experience of this renowned international media, through very concrete examples. His recommendations represent a valuable contribution to Albania media, showing how to turn Labour Market Information into a profitable business. Mr. Alexandar Dinev, from MPM Macedonia also brought an interesting experience from our region, on how this media has become a national reference for people to find information about the labour market and while generating significant profits.

Lively discussions among the participants and their interest on exploring the opportunities to disseminate labour market information turned the last session of the conference into a very fruitful forum to share ideas and opportunities.

At the end of the conference, RisiAlbania presented the Call for proposals from the media organizations and media production companies to develop and disseminate attractive media products focusing on Youth Education and Career Orientation and Employment Opportunities.
